**Exciting Opportunity for a Maternal-Child Health Nurse!**

**Job Description:**

- Unit: L&D/PP with a total of 34 patient beds, comprising:
- 7 Labor & Delivery beds
- 4 Triage beds
- 2 Overflow beds
- 27 Postpartum beds (with a 5-bed nursery)

- Average Birthing Rate:
- 3 births per day
- 1545 births per year

- Required Certifications:
- ACLS
- BLS
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AWOHNN - intermediate or advanced)
- Stable is preferred

- Staffing Details:
- Follow AWOHNN guidelines for nurse-to-patient ratios
- Charge Nurse oversees both L&D and Postpartum units
- Presence of Resource Nurse for breaks
- Supporting OB Technicians for deliveries and supplies

- Shift Details:
- 12-hour Night Shifts: 7pm - 7am
- Rotating every other weekend (EOW)
- Optional call availability preferred

- Holiday Requirement:
- Work alongside permanent staff for holidays, typically one major and one minor

- Scrub Color: Navy

- Equipment:
- FetalLink system integrated with Cerner
- Cerner EMR for charting

- Floating Details:
- L&D nurses float to Postpartum & NICU; must have postpartum experience
- Postpartum nurses may assist in L&D tasks

- Orientation:
- Comprehensive floor-specific orientation: 3 shifts

- Patient Demographics:
- Primarily high-risk deliveries, substance abuse, and EMT drop-offs
- Diverse patient backgrounds, including Spanish-speaking populations

- Experience Requirement:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience
- At least 1 prior travel contract is preferred

- Cancellation Policy: Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts for 13-week contracts, and 3 shifts for shorter assignments.
