**Job Description:**

- **Unit Information:**
- Location: 9 Tower Surgical
- Address: 2300 Patterson St. Nashville, TN 37203
- Number of Beds: 36
- Staff Composition: 40 RNs (8 bedside RNs per shift)

- **Team Structure:**
- Day Shift:
- 8 RNs
- 1 Charge RN
- 1 Unit Secretary
- 1 Manager
- 1 Clinical Nurse Coordinator
- Night Shift: 8 RNs

- **Patient Ratios:**
- 1:5 for optimal patient care

- **Equipment & Technology:**
- Bariatric fitted ADLs
- Wound Vacs
- Drains
- Lifts
- EMR: Meditech

- **Ideal Candidates Should Possess:**
- **Must-Haves:**
- Strong Time Management and Efficiency
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with short Length of Stay (LOS)
- Excellent Teamwork skills

- **Preferred Skills:**
- Background in post-operative surgical areas (vascular, bariatric, urology, general surgery, colorectal)

- **Typical Procedures:**
- Maintenance of post-operative surgical procedure sites
- Wound care (packing, dressing changes, wound vac maintenance)
- Foley Catheter care and Continuous Bladder Irrigation
- Ostomy appliance changes and maintenance
- Nasogastric Tube insertion and suction
- Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN)
- Blood Administration
- Central Line care and dressing changes
- Bedside Shift Report

- **Personality Fit:**
- Outgoing and customer service oriented

- **Required Certifications:**
- Basic Life Support (BLS)

- **Dress Code:**
- Scrub Colors: Black, Grey, White, Royal Blue

- **Unit Guidelines/Policies:**
- Prompt attendance (timely clocking in/out)
