**Job Description:**

- **Location:** Salem, VA
- **Unit:** Emergency Department
- **Number of Beds:** 27
- **Number of Staff:** 50 RNs / 25 Medics
- **Shift:** 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM
- **Patient Ratios:** 4:1 to 6:1

**Team Composition:**
- Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 5 RNs, 2-3 Medics
- Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 5 RNs, 2-3 Medics

**What We’re Looking For:**
- **Required Skills:**
- 2-3 Travel Assignments completed
- 2-3 years of Emergency Room experience

- **Preferred Skills:**
- High acuity ER experience
- Fast-paced ERs with high volume
- Experience with 5:1 patient ratios

**Key Procedures Performed:**
- Rapid Sequence Intubation (RSI)
- Sepsis interventions
- Stroke protocol with tPA administration
- Central line placement
- Care of psych patients
- Transfers to other facilities (EMTALA)

**Required Certifications:**
- BLS
- ACLS
- PALS
- TNCC

**Preferred Certifications:**
- ENPC
- NRP
- NIH Stroke Scale

**Dress Code:**
- Scrub Color/Attire: Navy blue or white

**Scheduling:**
- Weekends: 4 weekend shifts (Friday or Saturday for nights; Saturday or Sunday for days) in a four-week period

**Contract Details:**
- Number of Positions: 2
- Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Contract Weeks: 91
