Description
**Job Description:**
- Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15)
- RTO after booking is not allowed; no onsite workarounds.
- Call-offs or additional RTO could lead to cancellations and DNR.
**Required Skills / Certifications / Experience:**
- Minimum 2 years of experience on the cardiac floor required.
- Traveler Experience required unless traveler has over 24 months of cardiac experience.
- Skills:
- Cardiac Telemetry
- PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown
- Sheath Removal
- Interpretation and Management of Dysrhythmias
- Post MI and Pre/Post Cardiac CathCare
- Manage Cardiac Drips (no titration)
- Titrate Cardiac Drips
- Chest Tubes (Emerson/Pleuravac)
- Non-invasive Airway Management
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
**Preferred Skills / Experience:**
- Arterial Line Management
- Wound Care/Wound Vac
- Charge Experience
**Unit Details:**
- Ratios:
- 1:4 for Surgical Step Down
- 1:5-6 for Lower Acuity
- Weekend Requirement: 4 per 4 weeks (flexible)
- Contract staff may be assigned to work Storm or Hurricane Teams.
- Must be prepared for work during catastrophic events or mass casualties.
**Patient Diagnoses:**
- Atrial Fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD
- Aortic Stenosis, Mitral Regurgitation/Stenosis
- Endocarditis, Cardiomyopathy, PVD, PAD
- Sheath Management and Removal
**Special Procedures / Unit Details:**
- CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR
- Mitral Clip, LAAO, VATS
- Carotid Endarterectomy, FEM-POP Bypass
- Cardiac and Thoracic Surgeries
- Post Cath, Post DCCV, Pacemaker Placements
**Special Equipment:**
- Arterial Lines, Bladder Scanner, EKG
- Femoral Sheaths, Chest Tubes
- Epicardial Pacing Wires
**Unit Systems:**
- Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR
**Unit Orientation:**
- 24 hours
**Scrubs:**
- Navy
