Description
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
- CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification required
- BLS certification required
- 1+ years of surgical tech experience required
- Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation, sterile technique, and procedural anatomy
Duties:
- Prepare and set up sterile field, instruments, and supplies for surgical procedures
- Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons and assist during procedures while maintaining sterile technique
- Anticipate surgeon and procedural needs throughout the case
- Perform accurate instrument, sponge, and needle counts before, during, and after procedures
- Monitor sterile field for breaks in technique and take corrective action as needed
- Handle and prepare specimens for pathology per facility protocol
- Collaborate with circulating RN, surgeons, and anesthesia providers to ensure smooth case flow
- Assist with room turnover and terminal cleaning between cases
- Maintain and organize surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies
