Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York or compact state
• At least 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg Telemetry nursing
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts
• Strong communication, clinical, and critical thinking skills

Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, and effective nursing care to patients in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Monitor patient vitals and telemetry, promptly recognizing and responding to changes in patient status
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures according to physician orders
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, discharge instructions, and ongoing care
• Accurately document all patient care activities in the electronic medical record
