Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Cardiac Progressive Care/Telemetry

Job Description

• Work in a 44-bed Intermediate Cardiac Stepdown Unit (Cardiac Telemetry/Step Down)
• Fast-paced environment with high patient turnover
• Patient population includes post-op CABG/Valve, thoracotomy, vascular cases, arrhythmia, CHF, post-procedure cath, pacer/defib/ablations, acute chest pain/MI, med/surg overflow (detox, DKA, COPD exacerbation, respiratory failure, fem-pop bypass)
• Typical patient ratio: 1:4
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (1900-0730)
• Guaranteed 48 hours per week; overtime paid after 48 hours
• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• On-call/call-back with minimum 2-hour call-back pay; low census may require on-call status
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and every other holiday

Required Qualifications

• Licensure: Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS required
• Must pass EKG test within the first week of hire
• Minimum 2 years experience in IMC/PCU/Telemetry AND 1 year strong cardiac experience (Cardiac SDU/Intermediate Cardiac/Cardiac ICU)
• Experience with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro drips required
• At least 1 prior travel assignment must be completed (prior travel experience required)
• 1 year recent EPIC charting experience required

• Social and communicative skills important for timely task completion
• Scrub colors: any color allowed
• During flu season, travelers declining flu and COVID vaccinations must wear masks at all times per facility policy (mandatory compliance)
• Contract includes eligibility for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours; call-back pay applies if called in during these hours
• Orientation week hours may vary; guaranteed hours apply except during holidays when unit is closed
