OR Tech Job Details

• Location: Laurium, MI 49913 (Upper Peninsula – Michigan healthcare jobs)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (travel healthcare contract)
• Start Date: September 29, 2025
• Shift: 4x10 hour days per week (typically 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM; variable start times possible)
• Hours per Week: 40 guaranteed
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1920 - $2060
• On Call: 1-2 times per week (end of shift to 7:00 AM next day); every 4th weekend for call
• Holiday Call: Required (no regular holiday shifts)
• Scrub Colors: Provided

Operating Room Tech Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program (Associate Degree or Certificate required)
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience as an OR Tech or Surgical Technologist
• Strong experience in orthopedic surgery and C-section cases required
• Proficient in sterile processing and surgical standards
• Excellent teamwork, adaptability, and communication skills

OR Tech Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons and the healthcare team in a variety of surgical procedures, including ortho and C-section cases
• Maintain a sterile field and ensure proper handling of surgical instruments and supplies
• Participate in sterile processing and infection control as needed
• Support the surgical team before, during, and after procedures
• Demonstrate adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced operating room environment
• Document procedures accurately using the Epic charting system
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond promptly to emergency surgical needs
