Telemetry RN Job Details

• Location: Alton, IL 62002 (Greater St. Louis area – Illinois healthcare jobs)
• Setting: Intermediate Care Unit (Telemetry)
• Employment Type: Travel Nurse (Locum Tenens)
• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 - 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed hours
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1960-$2010
• Contract Duration: 12 weeks (option to extend for ongoing nursing jobs)
• Start Date: October 27, 2025
• End Date: January 19, 2026
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Charting System: EPIC (preferred experience)
• Scrub Color: Navy
• Parking: Free on-site parking

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active and valid Illinois RN license (required for all Illinois nursing jobs)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Telemetry or Intermediate Care RN experience
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (required for telemetry nurse jobs)
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius from Alton, IL
• Weekend and on-call availability required
• Strong clinical skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, pre/post cardiac cath, post-MI care, and telemetry
• References preferred at time of submittal

Telemetry Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients requiring cardiac monitoring, including pre/post cardiac catheterization and pacemaker care
• Monitor and manage patients with chest pain, shortness of breath, COPD, diabetes, hypertension, renal failure, and post-CVA
• Care for medical and surgical overflow patients as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, rapid response)
• Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC
• Participate in on-call rotation and float to affiliated units as required
• Adhere to hospital policies, including fit testing and compliance deadlines
