Travel Nursing Job Details
- Assignment Type: Travel CVICU RN – VAD Coordinator
- Location: Washington, DC 20010 (DC nursing jobs)
- Unit: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
- Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 11/24/2025 – End: 2/23/2026)
- Shifts: 5x8-hour shifts/week (Day: 08:00–16:30, Night: 17:00–08:00)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1970 - $2110
- Call: Weeknight and weekend call required (remote unless medically necessary)
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU nursing experience (critical care nursing)
- Active DC RN license (pending accepted with proof; must have license before start)
- BLS certification required
- Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) experience required
- VAD Certification preferred (within 1.5 years)
- Travel nursing experience required
- Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
- Two supervisor references required
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
CVICU RN Responsibilities
- Coordinate monitoring and management of patients with ventricular assist devices (VADs) during procedures and operations
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to maintain VAD device inventory, tracking, and FDA recall response
- Provide patient education on VAD care in accordance with regulatory standards
- Take VAD call and assist with cardiac procedures as needed
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients with advanced heart failure and VADs
- Accurately document patient care and interventions using Cerner electronic health records
