Setting: Hospital Operating Room (OR)
Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)

End Date: April 21, 2025
Duration: 8-week travel nursing contract
Shifts: 4x10 hour day shifts (0700-1700, 0700-1900, 0800-1800, 0800-2000)
Average Hours per Week: 40
Call Requirement: 12 hours/week (must be able to arrive at hospital within 20 minutes; overnight rooms available)
Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2260 - $2420

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State or compact state
Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room RN experience
BLS certification (Basic Life Support)
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to meet on-call requirements within 20 minutes

Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities

Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
Assess patient physical condition, review medical history, vital signs, and diagnostic studies
Provide pre-operative and post-operative education to patients and families
Follow Universal Protocol and adhere to infection control and patient safety policies
Monitor and document patient responses to surgical interventions, alerting surgeons or anesthesiologists as needed
Develop proficiency in both scrub and circulating nurse duties, gaining exposure to a variety of surgical cases
Participate in ongoing nursing education, orientation, and simulation-based learning
