PICC Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of New York (NY nursing license required)
- Associate of Applied Science in Nursing from an accredited institution
- Minimum 1 year of med/surg nursing experience
- At least 1 year of vascular access experience (PICC, Midline, IV insertion)
- Proficient in PICC line, Midline, and Ultrasound-Guided IV insertion
- Familiarity with Epic EMR preferred
Key Responsibilities for Vascular Access RN
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments for patients requiring vascular access
- Consult, assess, and insert vascular access devices (PICC, Midline, Ultrasound-Guided IVs)
- Deliver clinical support to providers, healthcare staff, and patients
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate and implement vascular procedures
- Participate in staff training and ongoing education
- Work independently and utilize the nursing process for optimal patient care
- Conduct patient interviews and review medical charts as needed
