NICU Registered Nurse Job Details
- Location: Ithaca, NY 14850 (New York healthcare jobs)
- Setting: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) – Maternal Child Health Department
- Employment Type: Travel RN Contract
- Start Date: June 23, 2025
- End Date: September 22, 2025
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2100-$2250
NICU RN Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State (NYS)
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience; NICU or Maternal Child Health experience strongly preferred
- Associate of Applied Science in Nursing or higher degree
- BLS certification required upon hire
- ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required within 6 months of hire
- Ability to perform light lifting and repetitive hand/finger movements
- Capable of sitting, standing, or walking for extended periods and operating clinical equipment
NICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to neonates and maternal child health patients in the NICU
- Collaborate with nursing leadership and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Perform patient observation, data collection, care planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Address patients’ physical, psychological, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs
- Adhere to nursing standards and scope of practice (AWONN, ACOG, NNA, AORN)
