PCU Registered Nurse Job Details

Location: Ithaca, NY 14850 (New York healthcare jobs)
Assignment Length: 13 weeks (10/6/2025 – 1/5/2026)
Healthcare Setting: Prep & Recovery Unit (PCU)
Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 3 shifts per week (9:00 AM – 9:30 PM)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Call: Call required
Employment Type: Travel RN, On-Site
Estimated Weekly Salary: $1930-$2070

PCU Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State or compact state
Minimum 1 year of recent PCU, Progressive Care, or acute care nursing experience
Experience with Epic electronic medical records (EMR) preferred
BLS certification required (American Heart Association)
Strong communication, clinical assessment, and critical thinking skills
Ability to participate in on-call rotation as needed

PCU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

Provide high-quality patient care in the Prep & Recovery Unit (PCU)
Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions using Epic EMR
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
Educate patients and families on care plans and post-discharge instructions
Participate in call rotation and respond to urgent patient needs as required
