PCU Registered Nurse Job Details
- Location: Burlington, MA 01805 (Greater Boston area)
- Healthcare Setting: Nursing Float Pool – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Contract Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
- Start Date: November 24, 2025
- End Date: February 21, 2026
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
- Hours per Week: 36 hours (72 hours biweekly guaranteed)
- Shift Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts (Days: 7a-7:30p, Nights: 7p-7:30a; rotates every 4 weeks)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,470 - $2,540
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Days: Sat/Sun; Nights: Fri/Sat/Sun)
PCU Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts or compact state (required)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Progressive Care Unit or acute care nursing experience
- BLS certification (AHA required)
- ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
- Level 1 trauma experience preferred; required if no prior travel nursing experience
- Must be separated from Beth Israel Lahey Health for at least 6 months (permanent, per diem, or contract)
- Ability to pass day-one clinical competency testing
PCU Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the Progressive Care Unit, maintaining nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3-5
- Float to ED holds, inpatient holds, PACU, and other clinical boarding units as needed
- Participate in rotating shifts and float assignments in 4-hour blocks
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe, effective patient care
- Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and clinical outcomes
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and healthcare regulations
