Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Winfield, KS 67156 (Kansas healthcare job)
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse, On-Site
• Unit: Labor and Delivery (L&D RN)
• Start Date: November 24, 2025
• End Date: February 23, 2026
• Duration: 13-week travel nurse contract
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 3 shifts per week
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Coverage: Every third weekend required
• COVID-19 Vaccine: Required (no exemptions)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1880 - $2020

Labor & Delivery RN Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (charge nurse experience preferred)
• Active Kansas or compact state Registered Nurse license (must be in hand at submission)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Experience with Centricity charting system preferred
• Community hospital or critical access hospital experience preferred
• Ability to float to other nursing units as needed
• 1 professional reference required

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns, including high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and postpartum care
• Assist with sterile speculum exams, non-stress tests (NSTs), reflex checks, and sterile vaginal exams
• Utilize external and internal fetal monitoring, IV therapy, medication administration, and pain management techniques
• Manage labor and delivery processes, including forceps/vacuum deliveries, neonatal care, and newborn assessments
• Support breastfeeding and lactation, provide discharge teaching to parents, and administer newborn vaccines
• Respond to obstetric emergencies, including hemorrhage, shock, and abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams such as respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation and adhere to infection control protocols
