Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Unit: Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg)
• Start Date: November 17, 2025
• End Date: February 16, 2026
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (3 shifts/week)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1680-$1800
• Openings: 3 Med/Surg RN positions available

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Tennessee or compact state)
• BLS Certification (required before first shift)
• ACLS Certification (required before first shift)
• Minimum 1 year of recent clinical experience in a Med/Surg setting
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments for all patients within 8 hours of admission
• Develop and implement individualized patient care plans with interdisciplinary teams
• Accurately document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses
• Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
• Initiate discharge planning and provide patient education from admission
• Communicate patient status changes to physicians and charge nurses for optimal continuity of care
• Supervise and delegate tasks to LPNs, CNAs, and orientees as needed
• Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff by following hospital safety protocols
• Participate in team-building activities and foster a positive healthcare work environment
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities after orientation as required
• Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing nursing education
