ER RN Travel Job Details
- Location: Bloomington, Indiana (47408) – Indiana healthcare jobs
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
- Unit: Emergency Department (ED) Boarding / Acuity Adaptable Float
- Shift: 3x12-Hour Days (07:00 - 19:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 11/18/2025 – End: 2/17/2026)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Charting System: Cerner EMR
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1770–$1820
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Indiana or compact state)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room (ER) or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (current and valid)
- Proficiency with Cerner electronic charting system
- Experience in team nursing (RN/LPN) and effective delegation
- Ability to float to PCU and other inpatient units as needed
- Availability to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during contract
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
ER RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality patient care in an acuity-adaptable ED boarding unit, caring for patients from MedSurg to ICU levels
- Manage patient ratios typically 1:5-6, with flexibility for higher ratios during high census
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including LPNs and CNAs, in a team nursing model
- Float to PCU and other inpatient units as required
- Provide care for patients awaiting transfer from the Emergency Department to inpatient units, ensuring safety and stability
- Efficiently perform admissions, discharges, and transfers in a high-turnover healthcare setting
- Utilize Cerner EMR for accurate documentation and patient care management
- Maintain compliance with hospital and healthcare policies and procedures
