Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details

• Healthcare Setting: Acute Care Hospital, Level III Trauma Center
• Unit: 3 East
• Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-Hour (7:00pm – 7:30am)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: November 18, 2025
• End Date: February 17, 2026
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Patient Ratios: 1:6-7
• Charting System: Epic
• Scrub Color: Royal Blue
• Parking: Free on-site parking
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1570-$1610

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Tele RN experience
• Active South Carolina RN license or Compact nursing license (required before start)
• BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Tele competency required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with conditions including diabetes, hypertension, coronary artery disease (CAD), seizure, CVA, TIA, and chronic renal disease (CRD)
• Monitor and manage cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmias, and cardiac drips (no titration)
• Administer blood products and manage central/peripheral lines, chest tubes, and surgical drains
• Perform wound care and wound vac management
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rapid response)
• Float between similar nursing units as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation using Epic electronic health record system
• Participate in emergency response teams during hurricane season if required
