- Location: Ellsworth, ME 04605 (Maine nursing jobs)
- Facility Setting: Level III Nursery, LDRP Unit (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (11/24/2025 – 2/21/2026)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
- Weekend & Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and holiday
- Charting System: Cerner
- Free Parking: Yes
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2520-$2700
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (first-time travel nurses accepted with at least 3 years of L&D experience)
- Active RN license (Registered Nurse)
- BLS, ACLS, NRP certifications required
- Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required
- STABLE certification (must be completed within 30 days of start)
- Proficient in all phases of LDRP care: antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care
- Experience with shoulder dystocia, epidural management, nitrous/intrathecal spinal analgesia, and neonatal care
Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to low-risk laboring mothers and newborns in an LDRP setting
- Manage all phases of labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care, including well-baby care
- Respond to postpartum hemorrhage, pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, and neonatal conditions such as NAS and hyperbilirubinemia
- Assist with C-sections to provide neonatal care (no circulating required)
- Care for Med/Surg overflow patients as needed (low acuity, no telemetry or infectious patients)
- Collaborate with midwives, OBs, charge nurses, and support staff to ensure high-quality patient care
- Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner EMR
- Follow AWHONN staffing guidelines and hospital protocols
