Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Contract
• Location: Milwaukee, WI 53227 (West Allis)
• Healthcare Facility: Level IV Trauma Center, Level III NICU, Level III Perinatal Center
• Start Date: December 1, 2025
• End Date: February 28, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit: Labor & Delivery (L&D)
• Patient Ratios: 1:1 active labor, C-section, and recovery; 1:2 laboring/cervical ripening/early labor; 2:1 care at delivery
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2360-$2420

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
• Active Registered Nurse license in Wisconsin or compact state
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications required
• Proficiency in labor, delivery, and immediate post-delivery care
• Experience with high-risk pregnancies and management of co-morbidities (diabetes, hypertension, etc.)
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care for laboring mothers, including delivery and recovery
• Perform vaginal checks, assist with laboring patients, and recover post-delivery mothers
• Monitor and stabilize newborns prior to transfer to postpartum unit
• Manage antepartum and intrapartum patients, including high-risk cases
• Assist with scheduled and emergency C-sections, cerclage procedures, and tubal ligations
• Collaborate with OB Techs, CNAs, hospitalists, neonatologists, and anesthesiologists
• Float to Postpartum, NICU (hold and feed), and other units as needed (no patient assignment outside L&D)
• Utilize advanced healthcare technology (GE Fetal Monitors, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, EPIC EMR)
