Registered Nurse Job Details
- Location: Tyler, Texas (75701) – East Texas healthcare jobs
- Assignment Type: Travel nursing contract
- Facility Setting: Level 1 Trauma Center, 14 OR rooms
- Start Date: December 1, 2025
- End Date: March 2, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 5x8-hour evening shifts (14:30 – 23:00)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Call Requirement: 1-2 shifts every 6 weeks
- Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
Operating Room RN Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Texas or compact state
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Proficiency in Ortho, General, Neuro, Vascular, and Urology surgeries
- Level 1 Trauma Center experience required
- Experience with Epic electronic charting system
- Preferred: Experience with pediatric/adolescent patients and DaVinci robotic surgeries
- Must not reside in the following Texas counties: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, Morris
OR RN Responsibilities
- Deliver perioperative nursing care for trauma, endo/lap, neuro, ortho, podiatry, thoracic, urology, and vascular surgical cases
- Demonstrate expertise in aseptic technique and advanced procedures such as abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, carotid endarterectomy, endovascular aneurysm repair, and femoral popliteal bypass graft
- Assist with robotic and minimally invasive surgeries
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Participate in on-call rotation as required
- Document patient care accurately using Epic charting system
- Support and mentor less experienced nursing staff
