ICU RN Job Details
- Location: Columbia, SC 29204 (South Carolina healthcare jobs)
- Unit: Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU)
- Position Type: Travel RN Contract
- Start Date: November 24, 2025
- End Date: February 23, 2026
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Weekly Hours: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,680 - $1,730
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (12 shifts per contract)
- Floating: May float to MICU or other hospital departments
- Patient Ratio: 1:1–2
- Charting System: Epic EMR
- Scrub Color: Royal Blue
- Parking: Free parking in lots and garages
ICU RN Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience (Cardiac ICU preferred)
- Active South Carolina RN license or Multi-State/Compact nursing license (must be active before start)
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Experience with Epic charting system preferred
- CRRT (Prismax) experience preferred
- Ability to float to similar critical care units
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- First-time travel nurses welcome
ICU RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to critically ill adult and geriatric cardiac patients (CHF, STEMI, and more)
- Monitor and manage advanced cardiac devices and therapies (Impella, IABP, CRRT, Flotrac)
- Administer medications, titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, and respond to emergencies
- Interpret arterial blood gases, manage ventilators, and provide post-cardiac intervention care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (respiratory therapy, pharmacy, social services)
- Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR
- Follow infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions
- Participate in unit expansion and quality improvement initiatives
