Travel Nurse Job Details
- Location: Macon, Georgia (31217) – Central Georgia healthcare jobs
- Assignment Length: 20 weeks (Start: 12/1/2025 – End: 4/20/2026)
- Shift: Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts per week (06:45 – 17:15)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Setting: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
- Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
- Daily Census: Approximately 25 surgical cases
- Floating: May float within facility and to Piedmont Macon North Hospital as needed
- Call: 20 days in a 6-week schedule, including at least 2 weekends
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2320-$2380
CVOR Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR RN experience (first-time travel nurses welcome)
- Active Georgia RN license or Compact State RN license (required at submission)
- Certifications: ACLS and BLS required; CNOR and TNCC preferred
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system
- Ability to float within scope of practice to other hospital units
- Two supervisory references (Manager or above) highly preferred
- Must submit core items and complete/schedule labs within 48 hours of contract signing
Key Responsibilities for CVOR RN
- Deliver expert nursing care for patients undergoing cardiovascular surgical procedures
- Assist with CABG, valve replacements, MAZE, TAVR, and other advanced cardiac surgeries
- Administer blood and blood products safely
- Ensure accurate specimen handling and labeling
- Maintain strict safety protocols (fire, laser, radiation safety)
- Participate in Universal Protocol (Time Out) procedures
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, Respiratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, etc.)
- Float to Main OR and other hospital departments as needed
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide holiday coverage as required
