Job Details – Atlanta CVOR Surgical First Assistant

• Assignment Type: Travel healthcare assignment
• Location: Atlanta, GA 30309 (Midtown – Georgia healthcare jobs)
• Start Date: March 16, 2026
• End Date: June 1, 2026
• Duration: 11 weeks
• Shift: 3x12-Hour Days (06:30 - 19:00)
• Call: 1 day per week and 1 weekend every 4 weeks (per department needs)
• Floating: Within facility/scope of practice and to Main OR as needed
• Patient Population: Adults, Geriatrics

Qualifications – CVOR First Assistant Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of recent experience as a CVOR First Assistant (5 years preferred)
• Proven experience in Cardiac, Vascular, Endovascular, and Thoracic surgical procedures
• Active CSFA (Certified Surgical First Assistant), NBSTSA, or NCCSA certification required
• BLS certification required
• Active Georgia or Compact state surgical technologist license at time of application
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred
• Heart transplant surgical experience highly preferred
• Must complete privileging process prior to start (approx. 3 months)
• Two supervisory references highly preferred
• First-time travel healthcare professionals welcome

Key Responsibilities – Surgical First Assistant (Travel OR Tech)

• Assist surgeons in a variety of cardiac, vascular, endovascular, and thoracic procedures
• Maintain and prepare a sterile surgical environment in the CVOR
• Demonstrate proficiency in CABG, valve replacements, endovascular repairs, and transplant surgeries
• Float to Main OR and other surgical units within scope of practice as needed
• Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes
• Ensure compliance with facility documentation and safety protocols
