Job Details – Atlanta CVOR Surgical First Assistant
- Assignment Type: Travel healthcare assignment
- Location: Atlanta, GA 30309 (Midtown – Georgia healthcare jobs)
- Start Date: March 16, 2026
- End Date: June 1, 2026
- Duration: 11 weeks
- Shift: 3x12-Hour Days (06:30 - 19:00)
- Call: 1 day per week and 1 weekend every 4 weeks (per department needs)
- Floating: Within facility/scope of practice and to Main OR as needed
- Patient Population: Adults, Geriatrics
Qualifications – CVOR First Assistant Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of recent experience as a CVOR First Assistant (5 years preferred)
- Proven experience in Cardiac, Vascular, Endovascular, and Thoracic surgical procedures
- Active CSFA (Certified Surgical First Assistant), NBSTSA, or NCCSA certification required
- BLS certification required
- Active Georgia or Compact state surgical technologist license at time of application
- Experience with Epic charting system preferred
- Heart transplant surgical experience highly preferred
- Must complete privileging process prior to start (approx. 3 months)
- Two supervisory references highly preferred
- First-time travel healthcare professionals welcome
Key Responsibilities – Surgical First Assistant (Travel OR Tech)
- Assist surgeons in a variety of cardiac, vascular, endovascular, and thoracic procedures
- Maintain and prepare a sterile surgical environment in the CVOR
- Demonstrate proficiency in CABG, valve replacements, endovascular repairs, and transplant surgeries
- Float to Main OR and other surgical units within scope of practice as needed
- Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes
- Ensure compliance with facility documentation and safety protocols
