Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Lynchburg, VA 24501 (Virginia healthcare job)
• Unit: Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg), LAC Resource Team
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start dates: 12/1 or 12/15/2025)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1680 - $1800
• Employment Type: Travel RN Contract
• Open Positions: 1
• Orientation: Every other Monday
• Weekend Requirement: 2-3 weekends per month (as needed by unit)
• Holiday Requirement: Must work 2 of 3 major holidays

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or Compact State
• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
• Experience in a teaching hospital or charge nurse role preferred
• Ability to foster a supportive, educational environment for students and new hires
• All requested time off must be submitted with application
• Applicants must reside more than 60 miles from Lynchburg, VA

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in a fast-paced Med/Surg unit
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including students and new nurses
• Demonstrate flexibility with scheduling, including weekends and holidays
• Participate in orientation sessions and ongoing clinical education
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards
• Promote a culture of learning, mentorship, and clinical excellence
