Job Opportunity: RN PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit)

Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Shift Rotation: 50% day/night rotation with up to 2 weekend shifts per month
• Experience Required:

  • Minimum 3 years as an RN
  • At least 1 year of travel PACU experience
  • At least 1 year experience in an Academic Medical Center setting

Required Credentials & Certifications

• Professional Licenses:

  • Valid nursing license with primary source verification (NURSYS and Board of Nursing required)
  • MA Conditional Licenses are NOT accepted

• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required (AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military accepted; AHA preferred)

• Health & Immunizations:

  • Fit Test for N95 respirator within 365 days of start date, updated annually
  • MMR vaccination or proof of immunity
  • Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30), no exemptions allowed
  • TB test documentation within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test), updated if >6 month break
  • Health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date, updated if >6 month break
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity strongly preferred
  • Tdap vaccine within last 10 years preferred
  • Positive PPD requires negative chest X-ray documentation

Background & Compliance Checks

• Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start, updated if >6 month break
• Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start, updated if >6 month break
• National sex offender registry check within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
• Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
• Social Security Number trace as part of criminal background check
• Education verification of highest degree achieved

Submission Requirements

• Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state
• Two recent references (minimum one supervisor or above in relevant skillset)
• Skills checklist
• Candidate submission coversheet

Additional Notes

• Respirator Medical Clearance attestation required as part of fit test documentation
• Confirmation of assignment form required upon acceptance and for any start date changes

This position is ideal for experienced PACU RNs with travel experience and academic medical center background seeking a 13-week assignment in Boston with a balanced day/night rotation and weekend shifts.
