Operating Room RN Job Details

• Location: Columbia, SC 29204 – South Carolina nursing jobs
• Healthcare Setting: Acute Care Hospital – General Surgery Operating Room
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 12/8/2025 – End: 3/9/2026)
• Shift: Day Shift – 4x10 Hour Shifts (6:30am – 5:00pm)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1630-$1750
• On-Call: 1-2 call days per week (starting at 5pm); one call weekend every 5 weeks (Saturday 7am to Monday 7am)
• Floating: May float between similar units or sister facilities
• Scrubs: Hospital-issued
• Parking: Free parking pass for downtown lots and garages

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience
• Active South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license (or proof of application)
• BLS certification required
• Radiation badge required (agency provided)
• First-time travel nurses accepted
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred
• PALS certification preferred

OR RN Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care for surgical patients in the operating room
• Assist with general, orthopedic, gynecologic, neurological, and robotic surgeries
• Administer medications and blood products as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and proper specimen handling/labeling
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy)
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergency surgical cases
• Float to similar units to support hospital operations
• Follow hospital protocols including universal time-out procedures and laser safety
