• Facility: Heart Hospital – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse Contract
• Start Date: January 5, 2026
• End Date: April 6, 2026
• Duration: 13-week travel nursing assignment
• Shift: 12-hour nights (18:30 – 07:00), 3 shifts/week (36 or 48 hours/week)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1700-$1740
• Patient Ratio: 1:4-5
• Unit Size: 55 beds
• Charting System: EPIC
• Scrub Color: Any (no logo)

PCU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New Mexico or Compact State RN license (required at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing experience (2 years preferred)
• Cardiovascular nursing experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (CPI preferred)
• First-time travel nurses welcome
• Willingness to float to similar units as needed
• Local candidates within 50 miles not accepted

PCU RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with cardiovascular diagnoses (CHF, STEMI/NSTEMI, post-cardiac procedures, etc.)
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, manage cardiac drips, and respond to changes in patient condition
• Administer blood products, manage central and peripheral IV lines, and perform wound care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
• Document all patient care in EPIC electronic health records system
• Participate in rotating weekend coverage and float to similar nursing units as needed
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards
