Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
• BCLS certification (required)
• Proficiency with EPIC charting
• Experience caring for pre/post neurosurgery, total joint replacements, post-surgical, and orthopedic patients
• Ability to float to other Med/Surg Tele units and affiliate hospitals (Memorial Belleville and Memorial Shiloh)
• Travel nursing experience required (first-time travelers must have at least 3 years of RN experience)
• References preferred at time of submittal
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• No local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical telemetry patients, including those with diabetes, COPD, renal conditions, infectious diseases, vascular issues, and post-surgical needs
• Specialize in surgical patient care following Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols
• Manage orthopedic totals, fractures, neurosurgeries, and complex wound care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, rapid response, and unit secretaries
• Float to other Med/Surg Telemetry units and affiliate hospitals as needed
• Participate in on-call rotations and weekend coverage as scheduled
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC
• Comply with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
