• Location: Tupelo, MS 38801 (Mississippi healthcare jobs)
• Unit: Cardiac Stepdown Unit (16 beds)
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Start Dates: 12/3/2025 or 12/17/2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7p-7a)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Scheduling: 3-1-3 or 6 on/8 off (details provided at contract start)
• Patient Ratios: 1:2 to 1:4
• Electronic Medical Record: Epic EMR
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1780-$1910

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Mississippi RN license (Registered Nurse jobs in Mississippi)
• BLS and ACLS certifications (required for cardiac nursing jobs)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification (required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in cardiac stepdown or stepdown nursing
• Ability to float to other stepdown units within the hospital
• Must pass Basic and Advanced Dysrhythmia test (80% or higher)
• Flexible availability for scheduling, including weekends and holidays
• Compliance documentation due 7 days before start date
• Must not have worked perm/per diem at NMMC in the last 12 months

Cardiac Stepdown Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in patient condition; administer medications
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop patient care plans
• Float to other stepdown units as needed
• Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR
• Follow hospital policies, including infection control and safety standards
• Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training
• Work scheduled weekends and holidays as required
