Travel RN Opportunity - Nashville, Tennessee

Position Details

Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Nashville, TN
Unit: 3rd Floor, Neuro Med/Surg
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Number of Beds: 20
Patient Ratios: 6:1
Staffing: Tech support available on day and night shifts; Unit secretary available 7am-7pm
Equipment Used: IV Pumps, Telemetry, Sequential Compression Devices (SCDs), Continuous Pulse Oximetry Machines, Feeding Pumps, PCA pumps, EKG machines, bladder scanner, iMobile communication technology
Documentation System: Meditech
Scheduling: 3 twelve-hour shifts per week; 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule
Floating Policy: Contract labor floats first; rotation used when multiple contract staff are scheduled
Patient Care Expectations: Provide attentive and compassionate care, bedside shift report, build personal connections with patients and families, involve them in care planning

Required Qualifications

Licenses: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Certification
Experience: Minimum 2 years in Med/Surg nursing
Skills:
- Med/Surg experience
- Ability to prioritize care and multitask
- IV starts
- Basic wound care
- Maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes

Additional Information

Dress Code: Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms)
Hospital Certifications: Comprehensive Stroke Center, ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center, Certified Chest Pain Center
Work Environment: Supportive team with experienced staff, use of advanced technology and equipment
