Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details

• Location: Galesburg, Illinois 61401
• Healthcare Setting: Acute Care – Cardiac Stepdown Unit
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/8/2025 – End: 3/9/2026)
• Nursing Shift: 8-hour days, Monday–Friday, 6:30am–3:00pm (No weekends or holidays)
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,560–$2,750
• Charting System: EpicCare Inpatient – EMR 2014 Certified EHR Suite

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois or compact state
• BLS certification (AHA required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent cardiac stepdown or cardiovascular intensive care experience
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients
• Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in cardiac patient conditions
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
• Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR system
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, procedures, and recovery plans
