Travel RN Opportunity – Labor and Delivery

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Facility Type: Level II Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, Level III NICU, Pediatric Emergency Room

Position Details

Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor and Delivery
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit: Labor and Delivery
Unit Beds: 16
Staffing: Approximately 120 staff members
Shifts: Day and Night
- Day Shift: Charge nurse, PCT, CST, RN
- Night Shift: Charge nurse, PCT, CST, RN
Patient Ratios: 1:1 and 1:2

Unit Environment & Equipment

Equipment includes Baxter Pumps and Phillips electronic fetal monitoring
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: Cerner and Fetal Ink
Scrub color/attire provided

Required Experience & Skills

Minimum 2+ years Labor and Delivery experience (mandatory)
High-risk pregnancy experience
Immediate newborn care skills
Preferred: Circulating experience

Typical Procedures

Vaginal Deliveries
Cesarean Sections
Dilation and Curettage (D&C)
Cerclage
C-Hyst (Cesarean Hysterectomy)

Certifications & Licenses Required

Registered Nurse License (valid in North Carolina)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
AWHONN (Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses) certification
BLS (Basic Life Support)
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification

Additional Information

Floating areas may include Maternal-Fetal Medicine Unit (MFMU), Mother-Baby (MOMB), and NICU
Weekends and on-call shifts are not required but may be available with approval
Personality fit: Outgoing, friendly, adaptable
