• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1890 - $1940 per week

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: December 8, 2025
• Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), 3 shifts per week
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: 1 holiday per 13-week assignment
• Floating: May float to Medical-Surgical (MS) units or affiliate hospitals as needed
• Patient Ratio: 1:4-5 based on acuity
• Charting System: Cerner
• Scrub Color: Royal blue
• Parking: Free onsite parking

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Indiana or compact state; pending accepted, must be active by start date)
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in cardiac stepdown, intermediate care, or similar clinical setting
• Certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) required (pending accepted, must be obtained prior to start)
• Proficient in cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• IV start and phlebotomy skills
• Experience with Cerner electronic charting system
• Willingness to float to other units or affiliate hospitals as needed
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Must reside at least 50 miles from Elkhart, IN (local candidates not accepted)

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the Intermediate Care Center
• Monitor and manage patients with high acuity cardiac, respiratory, endocrine, sepsis, electrolyte imbalance, and substance withdrawal diagnoses
• Administer non-titrated cardiac drips and insulin protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV therapy, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, and social services
• Float to other nursing units or affiliate hospitals as required by census and staffing needs
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner
• Uphold professional conduct and adhere to hospital policies and procedures
