Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details

• Location: Towson, MD 21204 (Baltimore area healthcare jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Unit: Med/Surg Telemetry (5th Floor, 5E/5W)
• Start Dates: 12/15/2025 (13 weeks) or 1/12/2026 (10 weeks)
• Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1790–$1920
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: As scheduled
• Floating: Required within Med/Surg Tele specialty and to lower acuity units
• Orientation: 24 hours

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
• Active Maryland or Compact Registered Nurse license (required at submission)
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CPI (AHA only for BLS/ACLS)
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system preferred
• Skilled in caring for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Must provide 2 professional references (1 supervisor/manager and 1 charge RN)
• Permanent residence must be 50+ miles from facility (travel nursing requirement)
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg Telemetry patients, including those with dysrhythmias, stroke, and post-cardiac procedures
• Administer and monitor cardiac drips (no titration), blood products, and medications per protocols
• Perform and interpret EKGs; manage central and peripheral lines, chest tubes, and feeding tubes
• Utilize telemetry equipment to monitor patient status and respond to changes promptly
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, and rapid response
• Float to other units within Med/Surg Tele specialty and lower acuity as needed
• Participate in self-scheduling; work every other weekend and holidays as scheduled
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation and participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training
