Travel Nurse Job Details
- Location: Boston, MA 02115 (Longwood Medical Area)
- Unit: Pediatric Cardiac ICU (CVPICU/CICU)
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse Contract
- Start Date: December 14, 2025
- End Date: March 15, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shifts: 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week), rotating days (7:00am–7:00pm) and nights (7:00pm–7:00am), or straight nights available
- Weekend Requirement: 3 of 6 weekends per contract
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2470–$2540
- Floating: Required to MSICU, MICU, NICU, ACCU as needed
- Scrub Color: Any solid color (OR-provided)
- Charting: Cerner (transitioning to EPIC)
- Parking: Discounted off-site with shuttle; free for night shift
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active, permanent RN license (Massachusetts preferred for Boston nursing jobs)
- Minimum 1 year of recent pediatric critical care experience (PICU, CVICU, or CICU)
- Travel nursing experience required
- Certifications: BLS and PALS (current and valid)
- Experience with congenital heart disease (CHD) pre- and post-op care
- Ability to float to related critical care units as needed
- COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Two professional references from two of the last three employers (different facilities)
Pediatric Cardiac ICU Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, family-centered care to pediatric cardiac ICU patients, including those with congenital heart disease
- Monitor, assess, and document patient status and progress using Cerner and EPIC EMR systems
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for pediatric cardiac surgery patients
- Float to other critical care units as needed (MSICU, MICU, NICU, ACCU)
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and healthcare safety standards
