Key Job Details – Vermont Nursing Jobs

• Location: Berlin, VT 05602 (Central Vermont)
• Facility: 51-bed Med-Surg Telemetry Unit, Level 3 Trauma Center
• Assignment Length: 32 weeks (option to extend)
• Start Date: December 22, 2025
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Work 2 of 4 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year's Day)
• Floating: Infrequent, to similar units
• Documentation: Epic EMR experience required
• Parking: Free onsite parking
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2100 - $2250

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 5 years of Med/Surg Telemetry experience or 3 years of Telemetry experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required (2 completed travel assignments in 300+ bed facilities or prior UVMHN acute care experience)
• Recent Epic EMR experience (within past 2 years)
• Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIHSS (NIHSS required before start)
• Telemetry certification preferred
• Peripheral IV placement skills preferred
• Reliable personal transportation (no public transit available)
• Ability to work every other weekend and 2 major holidays

Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered nursing care to adults in a busy Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Apply, interpret, and respond to telemetry monitoring
• Perform bedside procedures: NG tube insertion, peripheral IV insertion, telemetry strip interpretation
• Collaborate with RNs, LPNs, LNAs, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Document patient care in Epic EMR and administer medications via Pyxis system
• Float to similar units as needed
• Participate in orientation and ongoing nursing education
• Maintain professional appearance and adhere to facility dress code
