ICU RN Job Details – Salem, OR
- Location: Salem, OR 97301 (Oregon healthcare jobs)
- Facility Setting: General ICU/PCU division (Med/Surg ICU)
- Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract
- Start Date: January 5, 2026 or later
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 3 shifts/week
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1720–$1840
- Patient Ratios: 1:2 or 1:1
- Floating: Frequent between ICU/PCU units and to West Valley Hospital (affiliate location)
ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Oregon RN license may be pending at submission)
- Minimum 18 months of recent ICU experience in a hospital with 300+ beds
- At least 2 years of ICU nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Previous travel RN experience (no first-time travelers)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Preferred: CCRN, CPI, TNCC certifications
- Proficient in IV starts, telemetry, conscious sedation, ventilator management, and arterial line management
- Experience with complex patient populations: sepsis, respiratory failure, traumatic brain injury, neurosurgical interventions, multi-system organ failure, stroke, GI bleeding, and multi-system trauma
ICU RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill adult patients in a fast-paced ICU setting
- Float between ICU/PCU units and to affiliate hospital as needed
- Initiate and manage IVs, telemetry, ventilators, and advanced medical equipment
- Administer medications, blood products, and sedation per protocols
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and arterial blood gases
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response
- Accurately document patient care using Epic EMR
- Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical education modules
