- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day shifts, 8:00am–4:30pm, 5 days per week
- Hours per Week: 40
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1770 - $1900
- Setting: Radiation Treatment Center
- Patient Population: Adults, primarily oncology patients
- Charting System: Cerner EMR
- Flu Vaccine: Required (no exemptions)
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active DC Registered Nurse license required at time of application
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience; nurse navigator or coordinator experience preferred
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Proficiency in care and management of ports, central lines, IV starts, wound care, and tracheostomy management
- Experience with acute oncology emergencies (ATLS, anaphylaxis, extravasation injury, hemorrhage, sepsis, spinal cord compression, neutropenic precautions)
- Radiation oncology nursing experience preferred
- Ability to complete charting in Cerner EMR
- At least one prior travel nursing assignment completed
- Two supervisor references required
RN Responsibilities
- Serve as nurse navigator for radiation therapy patients, providing education, assessment, and care coordination
- Perform office duties: chart preparation, disability forms, pharmacy calls, and telephone triage
- Assess and manage patient symptoms, consulting with physicians and emergency services as needed
- Deliver skincare and wound care, monitor for radiation toxicity, and address social needs
- Start and maintain IVs for adult oncology patients
- Coordinate appointments and clinic flow for radiation therapy patients
- Ensure radiation safety protocols are followed
- Document all care and interventions accurately in Cerner EMR
