Key Job Details – Med/Surg RN Travel Assignment
- Location: Bowling Green, Kentucky 42101
- Unit: Med/Surg 3D Ortho/Neuro Floor
- Assignment Type: Travel Nursing Job
- Start Date: December 8, 2025
- End Date: March 9, 2026
- Duration: 13-week contract
- Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour or 4x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00)
- Hours per Week: 36-48 (guaranteed hours preferred at 48)
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1890-$1940
- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- Flu Vaccine: Required (no exemptions)
- COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience with Ortho & Neuro focus
- Active Kentucky or compact RN license (NLC compliant)
- BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications required
- Experience with Meditech EMR preferred
- Ability to obtain flu vaccine (no exemptions)
- Willingness to work holiday weeks (limited holiday RTO)
- First-time travel nurses accepted with strong Ortho/Neuro background
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a 24-bed Ortho/Neuro Med/Surg unit
- Manage post-operative care for total joint replacements, fractures, spinal surgeries, amputations, and bariatric procedures
- Monitor and care for patients with TIA, CVA, and other neurological conditions
- Administer medications, manage IVs, perform wound care, and drain management
- Operate specialized equipment including bariatric lifts, Bucks traction, CPM, and chest tube management systems
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (PT, RT, pharmacy, radiology, social services)
- Participate in unit rotation and on-call duties as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in rapid response/code teams
