Position Details

Unit Information

• Patient Ratios:

  • Days: 5-6 patients per nurse
  • Nights: 6 patients per nurse
• Staffing:

  • Days: Unit Secretary and 2-3 Patient Care Technicians (PCT) available
• Equipment:

  • Sara Steady lift
  • Wound Vac
  • Tele Health
  • Virtual Sitter equipment
  • Remote telemetry
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling:

  • Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) required
  • Weekdays are flexible
• Floating Policy: PRN, typically floats between Medical-Surgical units
• Patient Experience Requirements:

  • BSSR (Bedside Shift Report)
  • Hourly rounding

Required Skills and Certifications

• Must Have:

  • Strong assessment skills
  • Experience with IV pumps
  • Experience with Pyxis medication dispensing cabinets
• Advanced Skills:

  • IV and Foley catheter placement
• Certifications:

  • BLS required
  • NIH and CPI preferred

Dress Code

• Black or royal blue scrubs

Contract Length

• 13 weeks
