CVICU RN Job Details

• Location: Columbus, Ohio 43210 (Ohio nursing jobs)
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Start Date: January 5, 2026
• End Date: April 6, 2026
• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• On-Site Position
• No On-Call Required
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1940-$1990

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac ICU or CVICU experience preferred
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• BLS and ACLS certifications (required for all travel nurse jobs)
• NIHSS certification preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Ability to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Two professional references required (one from a manager/director or formal leader)

CVICU RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in the Cardiovascular ICU, including post-cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgery patients
• Monitor and manage patients with advanced cardiac devices (VADs, ECMO, IABP, Impella, Total Artificial Heart)
• Perform IV starts, ventilator care, telemetry, Swan-Ganz catheter monitoring, and balloon pump management
• Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Assist with chest tube insertion/removal, arterial line management, and post-surgical care
• Interpret arterial blood gases and cardiac dysrhythmias
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy)
• Float to other critical care units as needed
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using EPIC
