Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Lynchburg, VA 24501 (Virginia nursing jobs)
• Unit: Cardiac Stepdown / Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel contract (option to extend to 16 weeks)
• Start Date: January 12, 2026
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts
• Hours per Week: 36 or 48 (contract options available)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1780 - $1910
• Employment Type: Travel RN job
• On-Site Position

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience (travel nurse experience required)
• Active Virginia or Compact Registered Nurse license (required on start date)
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (current)
• Experience with med-surg, telemetry, cardiac IMCU, neuro, and CVA patients preferred
• Charge nurse experience and Cerner EMR proficiency preferred
• Must be available to work 2 of 3 winter holidays (no Christmas RTO approved)
• All requested time off must be submitted with application
• Local candidates within 60 miles are not eligible
• Provide complete work history with explanations for gaps over 90 days
• Skills checklist and RN license copy required for submission

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to med-surg, telemetry, cardiac, neuro, and CVA patients in an intermediate care setting
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including students and new hires, fostering a supportive learning environment
• Administer medications, monitor patient progress, and document care using Cerner EMR
• Conduct patient assessments, develop care plans, and manage discharge processes
• Provide leadership and mentorship, especially for charge nurse roles
• Comply with hospital policies, holiday scheduling, and all healthcare regulations
