- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse Contract
- Unit: Med/Surg (Medical-Surgical Nursing)
- Start Date: December 15, 2025
- End Date: March 16, 2026
- Duration: 13-week contract
- Shift: 3x12-Hour Day Shifts (07:00 - 19:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Coverage: Required (6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)
- Call Requirement: One shift per 6-week schedule
- Patient Ratio: 1:5
- Patient Population: Adults, Geriatrics
- Daily Census: 10-13 patients
- Orientation: 40 hours (includes online modules)
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1610-$1730
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Experience with Allscripts or Altera electronic charting systems preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred
- Ability to complete facility drug screening (including marijuana) upon arrival
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Must be available to complete lab items within 72 hours of offer acceptance
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a busy Med/Surg unit
- Manage a patient assignment of 5, including post-op, orthopedic, diabetes, pneumonia, wound care, and urological cases
- Perform essential nursing skills: IV starts, wound care, blood product administration, colostomy care, and more
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Social Services
- Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently using electronic charting systems
- Participate in orientation and complete required training modules
- Provide weekend and on-call coverage as scheduled
