• Unit: Med/Surg (Medical-Surgical Nursing)
• Start Date: December 15, 2025
• End Date: March 16, 2026
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: 3x12-Hour Day Shifts (07:00 - 19:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Coverage: Required (6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)
• Call Requirement: One shift per 6-week schedule
• Patient Ratio: 1:5
• Patient Population: Adults, Geriatrics
• Daily Census: 10-13 patients
• Orientation: 40 hours (includes online modules)
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1610-$1730

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Experience with Allscripts or Altera electronic charting systems preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Ability to complete facility drug screening (including marijuana) upon arrival
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Must be available to complete lab items within 72 hours of offer acceptance

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a busy Med/Surg unit
• Manage a patient assignment of 5, including post-op, orthopedic, diabetes, pneumonia, wound care, and urological cases
• Perform essential nursing skills: IV starts, wound care, blood product administration, colostomy care, and more
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Social Services
• Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using electronic charting systems
• Participate in orientation and complete required training modules
• Provide weekend and on-call coverage as scheduled
