Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Omaha, NE 68114 – A vibrant Midwest city known for its welcoming community, excellent healthcare jobs, and thriving arts scene.
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2250-$2310
- Start Date: December 8, 2025
- End Date: March 9, 2026
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Unit: Cardiac ICU (CVPICU), 32 beds, average daily census of 21
- Patient Ratios: 1:2
- Weekend Coverage: Required (3 out of 6 weekends per contract)
- Floating: May float to PICU, NICU, and Med/Surg units as needed
PICU RN Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent pediatric cardiac ICU or CVPICU nursing experience required
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Nebraska or compact state)
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS (CCRN preferred)
- Proficiency with invasive cardiac monitoring, ECMO, CRRT, vasopressors, and cardiac/sedation drips
- First-time travel nurses welcome
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted); COVID-19 vaccine not required
- Experience caring for neonates, infants, and pediatric patients
- Applicants must reside more than 100 miles from Omaha, NE
Pediatric Cardiac ICU RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients with complex cardiac conditions, including post-op open hearts, single ventricles, heart transplants, and heart failure
- Monitor and manage invasive cardiac lines (CVP, ART, RA, etc.) and advanced therapies such as ECMO and CRRT
- Administer and titrate cardiac and sedation drips, vasopressors, and antiarrhythmics
- Assist with special procedures, including intubation, chest tube management, and ventilator care
- Interpret arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias; respond to pediatric emergencies
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV therapy, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, and pharmacy
- Float to other critical care units (PICU, NICU, Med/Surg) as required
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold the highest standards of patient safety and care
