Key Job Details – Med/Surg RN Travel Assignment in Virginia
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
- Location: Lynchburg, VA 24501 (Virginia nursing jobs)
- Unit: LAC Resource Team – Med Surg Oncology
- Start Date: December 15, 2025
- End Date: March 14, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks (potential extension up to 16 weeks)
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts
- Average Hours per Week: 36
- Weekends: 2-3 weekends per month, based on unit needs
- Orientation: Every other Monday
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active RN license in Virginia or Compact State (required at start)
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Med/Surg or Oncology nursing
- Prior travel nursing experience (required)
- BLS certification (required)
- ACLS certification (preferred)
- Experience with Cerner EMR (preferred)
- Ability to provide complete work history and explain any employment gaps over 90 days
- Submission of a current skills checklist
- All requested time off must be submitted at application
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg Oncology patients as part of the LAC Resource Team
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Administer medications, monitor patient progress, and accurately document care
- Float to other hospital units as needed, with travel RNs floating first per facility policy
- Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training
- Work 12-hour night shifts, including 2-3 weekends per month
- Maintain compliance with all facility policies and healthcare regulations
