Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

  • Schedule: Every weekend required; flexibility needed
  • Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,590 - $2,660
  • Orientation: Bi-weekly on Mondays
  • Transportation: Reliable personal or rental vehicle required (public transportation not accessible)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (pending licenses considered case-by-case)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent high-risk Labor & Delivery RN experience in a large academic healthcare setting
  • Recent EPIC charting experience within the last 12 months (required)
  • COVID-19 vaccine required (no exemptions)
  • Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
  • Willingness to work 2 of 3 major holidays during assignment
  • Complete work history with explanations for employment gaps over 90 days
  • Reliable transportation (all-season or snow tires recommended November–April)
  • Prior travel nursing experience required; no first-time travelers

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients in a high-risk Labor & Delivery unit
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
  • Utilize EPIC EMR system for accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling and adapt to changing patient care needs
  • Participate in bi-weekly orientation and ongoing professional development for nurses
  • Maintain compliance with all hospital and healthcare facility policies and procedures
  • Educate and support patients and families throughout the labor and delivery process
