Labor & Delivery RN Job Details
- Location: Burlington, VT 05401 – Explore Lake Champlain, outdoor recreation, and the charm of New England in this top-rated Vermont healthcare destination.
- Assignment Length: 26-32 weeks (Travel nursing contract)
- Start Date: December 15, 2025
- Shifts: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:30); occasional day shift coverage may be required
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Coverage: Every weekend required
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,590 - $2,660
- On-site Registered Nurse position
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (pending Vermont RN licenses considered case-by-case)
- Minimum 2 years of recent high-risk Labor & Delivery nursing experience in a large academic or teaching hospital
- EPIC EMR charting experience within the past 2 years (required)
- COVID-19 vaccination required (no exemptions)
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Ability to work every weekend and demonstrate scheduling flexibility
- Reliable personal or rental vehicle required (public transportation not available); vehicles must have all-season or snow tires November–April
- Willingness to work 2 of 3 major holidays during assignment if scheduled
- Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travel nurses are not eligible for this assignment
Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to high-risk laboring patients and newborns in a fast-paced, academic hospital environment
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
- Utilize EPIC electronic medical records (EMR) for accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Demonstrate flexibility to cover occasional day shifts as needed
- Participate in bi-weekly orientation and ongoing professional development for travel nurses
- Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and timely documentation requirements
