Travel Nurse Job Details
- Location: Columbus, Ohio 43210
- Unit: Labor & Delivery, High Risk Obstetrics
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 1/5/2026 – End: 4/6/2026)
- Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 36 hours/week
- Employment Type: Travel RN
- Patient Population: Neonates, Adolescents, Adults
- Unit Size: 13 beds, daily census ~10
- Weekend Coverage: Required
- Orientation: 36 hours
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
- Active Registered Nurse license (compact or Ohio nursing license)
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP (AWHONN Advanced or NCC C-EFM accepted)
- EPIC charting experience required
- IV start and Labor & Delivery experience required
- Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Willingness to float to other hospital units as needed
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
- Two professional references required (one from a manager/director or supervisor)
Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive care for patients in Labor & Delivery, including high-risk obstetrics
- Perform IV starts, administer medications, and monitor maternal and fetal status
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, Cesarean sections, and post-delivery recovery
- Support breastfeeding and lactation, provide patient education
- Conduct antepartum and postpartum assessments, including APGAR scoring
- Utilize external and internal fetal monitoring, interpret telemetry, and respond to abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Float to Antepartum and other units as required
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, Respiratory, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, etc.)
- Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC electronic health records
